Family #23: Happy Birthday
Assalamualaikum.
To be honest, I seldom appreciate people around me including my family. I always took them for granted and even worse than that.
But that was before. That was before I reached maturity. That was when I was in my teenage years, full of energy and rebelions.
Going back to 2006, I lost my beloved grandfather. He died at the age of 67 due to atherosclerosis. He's gone during my SPM trial, and I did very bad in both trial and the real examination. I am supposed to be a good grand daughter, do good deeds on his behalf and pray a lot for him. Instead, I went to the opposite, which gave me so much regrets later.
I don't want to repeat the same mistakes I did before. Looking at my family members, I know the fact that they won't be with me forever. It is just a matter of time that they will return back to The Almighty. So, I really want to spend the time left to fully appreciate them. Especially my mum and dad. Couldn't imagine my life without them.
Happy Birthday, Abah. Thank you for all the sacrifices and efforts you ever did for me. I thank Allah for sending you for me. I am lucky to be having you since the first day I was born up until this moment. May Allah bless you with good health and long life prosperity.
To Adik, Happy Birthday too. Please be a better daughter than me. Please don't do the same mistakes your sister ever did. You are so much better than myself. Study hard and make our mum and dad proud.
